In this video I show you how I refurbished my broken iPhone.
The phone was really damaged. Glass was broken, LCD was no longer working properly, the home button came loose, speakers where like blown, the charging port had issues. So yes, ready to be thrown away right, or wait..?
I am in Hong Kong and I see a lot of vendors selling “like new” iPhones. I was told they get cheap replacement parts in mainland China and that’s how they “refurbish” the phones. They look really great, but you have no idea about the history of the phone or if the components used are real apple or imitation.
But it made me thinking, let me try to give my old iPhone a new life. I went to the Chinese eBay called Taobao and ordered my self a iPhone replacement kit. It basically contains a new phone, only the logic board is not included. The logic board is like the brain of your phone. All other parts like camera, battery, screen and housing etc. are replaced. So the logic board of the phone still need to be in working order. I just want you to show how easy it is to refurbish an iPhone with replacement parts, real or fake (?). So if you every buy a refurbished phone make sure you know what you’re buying ;-)
