Hi everyone,
It's been quite awhile since I worked with paint in my art journal and when I'm feeling like I've forgotten how to push paint around I like to grab my Hot Mess Journal and work in it. I have been brushing leftover paints and sprays from stencils in this journal for well over a year and some of the pages are quite horrible looking, but they are a great place to start with a journal page! It takes away that fear of the blank page, that's for sure!
The part of the image that i used is actually from a calander page and it was a leftover scrap that had made its way back onto my art table. I was originally planning on putting it in my collage journal, but I saw it while working on this page and for some reason it wouldn't let me not glue it down on there. I tried to not listen, but I always try to listen to those urgings from my Muse and trust in the intuitive process. I'm really, really glad that I added it. I love how this page turned out and it's inspired me to try to add images to my pages more often. I tend to work with straight mixed-media or paper collage only. I think it might be time to try to start combining the two together. :-)
