On Oct 10, 2017 YouTube stopped suggesting videos from this channel (among others), apparently for political reasons. Instead of growing it began to shrink as there were very few new viewers. Someone simply pressed a large button, it seems... Brown = views from suggestions, blue = playlists, green = browsing the channel.
Then on Jan 29, 2019 suddenly all videos were suggested again. After more than a year all went back to normal. As you can see there is already some growth happening at the end. Maybe someone pressed a button again, a small one this time..? So, this is how it works out here in the free world without censorship...
However one video remained unaffected and was still suggested as before up until the end of June, 2018. Incidentally it just happened to show video with the devastating results of the 2016 floods... For a long time this video was actually the most viewed on this channel. Definitely an anomaly... I have no idea why they eventually also stopped suggesting this video.
Actually the same also happened in spring 2017. On Apr 1st, all except the video showing bad things in the North stopped being suggested until May 31 (June 31 in the video which is an error) . There was a presidential election in South Korea on May 9th where Moon Jae-in, who stated he would cooperate with the North, was the winner. If many channels like this one were downplayed there may have been an impact on how people voted. The majority of views on this channel comes from South Korea. There may of course also be some other explanation, who knows..?
