This is a pretty personal piece.
I've had a lot of time to think and reflect recently. Not only on the events that have happened in my personal life this year, but who I want to be and what I want to do in 2019 (and beyond).
I made this speedpaint as a sort of vent piece to help get these emotions out.
The reason why I have drawn myself in this way and not in my usual Ruebharb outfit is because during the Christmas period, I thought it would be a fun idea to have a Christmassy name over on Twitter. As a lover of terrible puns, I thought that being called 'Ruedolph' would be pretty amusing. I also edited my icon on Twitter so I looked more reindeer-like too. (Some of you may have seen this in the community page on my YouTube channel as well!) Based on that edit, came this design. And even though I've drawn myself as a kind-of-joke/pun here, I actually feel like this piece is the most accurate drawing of myself that I've ever done.
One thing you guys should know about me is that I absolutely love the night sky. I love stars. I love the moon. And I honestly could stare at them all night long if I didn't need sleep. Something about them just reminds me how big the universe is, and how small my problems are. It's kind of an escape thing too. Looking into an unexplored space. How many adventures there could be. I love it. Plus being out in the fresh cold air and silence really helps reset the mind and calm down.
But yeah, enough rambling now.
I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas and continue to enjoy the Holiday season! And I hope 2019 brings you exactly what you're looking for.
I can't thank you guys enough for all the amazing support you have given me through 2018, which has been an insanely rough and intesne time in my life. A lot has happened, hence the reflecting.
