The Ferrari F355 wasn’t built to beat anyone—it was built to be the best. Its 3.5L V8 was an evolution of the 348’s 3.4L, upgraded with titanium connecting rods and five valves per cylinder—three intake, two exhaust. Power output rose to 375 hp, which may seem modest today, but at the time it gave the F355 the highest horsepower-per-liter of any production car in the world.
