It wasnt wasn’t easy calling the cops on my dad when I was 12, but doing so finally got me out of the trailer on the hill.
It wasn’t easy moving towns and schools when I was 16, but doing so gave me a fresh start to try again in life.
It wasn’t easy being the first in my family to go to college, but doing so helped me to see I was more than where I came from.
It wasn’t easy moving across the country when I was 19, but doing so allowed me to realize that wherever I went, there I was, and finally start to deal with my trauma.
It wasn’t easy giving my life to Christ and giving up all my old sins, but doing so allowed me to finally find the peace and healing I had been looking for.
It wasn’t easy leaving behind ungodly relationships, but doing so allowed me to build the family I have now.
And it’s not easy to pick up my cross, hold my tongue, and die to myself each day, but struggling to do so only gives me more freedom.
