The Redwood Valley Railway is a 15” gauge railroad perched high above San Francisco Bay near Berkeley, California. Founded in 1952 by Western Pacific mechanical engineer Erich Thomsen, it’s tracks pass through stands of towering redwoods. All four of the railroad’s oil-fired steam locomotives were built in the Redwood Valley shops. The Redwood Valley is one of three miniature railroads featured on the DVD “Grand Scale Steam” from Yard Goat Images - yardgoatimages.com
