Reductio ad impossibile, also known as proof by contradiction, is a more specific form of reductio ad absurdum where the assumption leads to a logical impossibility or a contradiction, thereby proving the original statement is true. Therefore, every reductio ad impossibile is a type of reductio ad absurdum, but not all reductio ad absurdum arguments necessarily lead to a logical impossibility.
