This video tells the story of UAS use in night-time defensive firing operations on the Forsyth Fire in Utah, June 2025. It evaluates three different drainages, all of which faced imminent wildfire impact. Two areas burned naturally, resulting in significant moderate and high severity damage to the soil. The third drainage was defensively fired by drone, under moderated night-time conditions. This resulted in less severe damage to the soil and the forest. The video explores the benefits of UAS and other emerging technology, highlighting some best practices for practitioners and land managers.
