Racing games and hovercrafts with boosters attached to them. Scientists have known years that this makes any game better. Kinda like FPS and jet-packs. Anywho, Redout is a game where you careen down a track at recklessly fast speeds and pretend like you have a say in the matter of face-planting into a wall.
As a self imposed challenge, I took off my powerups for this one (and forgone upgrades as I literally just found out about them as I was recording this video). Otherwise I'd crush the AI and this video wouldn't be nearly as interesting.
Rule of cool applies solidly here. Thus said the 360 controller emulation is surprisingly functional. I do kinda wish developers (Indie and otherwise) hadn't forgotten about Direct Input and control customization. Sure it's ancient as hell but it still works.
