In this video, we're looking at the amazing story of the Takahē from New Zealand. Thought to have gone extinct long ago, the birds were only known from subfossil remains. But shortly after being described, the Takahē was found, still surviving in the extreme South of New Zealand.
By the 20th century, they were gone again, and a new search was ignited when mysterious footprints turned up in the snow.
