Since I ruined "Deck the Hall" for everyone last week, I thought I'd redeem it. (Plus, I just sang the bass solos in "Messiah" at Carnegie Hall, and thought I should commemorate the occasion with a video.)
Here are the modified solfège settings to fit the right melody:
Deck the hall with boughs of holly,
re mi fa re mi re do ti do
'Tis the season to be jolly,
re mi fa re mi re do ti do
Don we now our gay apparel,
mi fa so la ti do ti la so
Troll the ancient Yuletide carol,
la la la la so fa mi re do.
(Yes, I use moveable do. If you are wedded to fixed "do," just tune your A to about 410 for this and you'll be fine!)
(Also, yes, I used "so" and not "sol" - I use both, interchangeably, mostly depending on which one has the better pun available. But usually the former, for 1 consonant per vowel consistency across syllables.)
