Red Rock Canyon sits 30 minutes from the Vegas Strip and offers three standout desert hikes: Calico Tanks, Turtlehead Peak, and Icebox Canyon. Calico Tanks is a 2.5-mile round trip through red-and-gold sandstone with views of the Strip. Turtlehead Peak is a tougher summit climb with steep scrambles and wide-open ridgelines. Icebox Canyon is an easy slot canyon walk with seasonal water and shade. The park charges $15 per vehicle for a day pass.
