The band rehearsed and recorded a session of demos in September of 1998 at Daniel Lanois and Mark Howard's El Teatro studio in Oxnard, California, an old converted Spanish language theatre. Many of these songs ended up, in their final versions, on Californication, released the next year. Two tracks from this recording have surfaced officially, both on the Around The World single; a demo version of Parallel Universe and a portion of a longer jam called Teatro Jam. The rest only surfaced via a leak in September of 2014.
The date of September 15, 1998 comes from the CD-R that held the recordings. There's a chance this is the date that the CD was compiled, not the date that the tracks were recorded.

While working on the mix of Joshs backing vocals in Im With You, I noticed that there were not only vocals buried in the background of the mix, but also guitars, synthesizers and textures that were barely noticeable. With the limitations of AI models (its understandable, after all I was giving it an audio file with a super compressed mix) when removing the main vocals, I noticed that combined with JKs BVs they gave a very pleasant sensation to the ear.
Thats why I decided to give it a full album treatment with all the limitations that I have at my disposal.
I hope you like it and enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it!

New project! I took the vocals from BTW and added them into the Rough Mixes/Unmastered instrumentals to make it sound more crispy!. Maybe they lack some guitar or keyboard overdubs.
In this particular one instead of the acoustic break, there is a more powerful one.
The instrumentals are dated from November 2001. The source is a CD that contained these early mixes had Anthonys guide vocals (you can find the full album on my channel).

In 2017, Max Elfimov interviewed Chad Smith and he confirmed it was written and recorded during the Greatest Hits sessions in 2003.
