Not a very good video with shadows and a few bloopers but it still offers some education to those learning to add cores so hopefully you still find it helpful.

Using the Red Clay Casting™ method by Craig Dabler this is how the flask is set up with a basic core. The core is just a wooden dowel which will cause the molten metal to form around leaving a hole.
