This Barn MOC is loosely based on the barn I used to play in growing up in the Midwest. The classic red exterior and black roof make this building instantly recognizable and helps to set it apart from other buildings in any LEGO layout.
Keeping playability in mind, the upper section of the roof can be lifted off to access the hayloft, where I have included a fully studded tan floor and some brown beam designs to help support the roof. The hayloft can be removed in a similar manner to access the main level, which I have left open. This will allow you to add in whatever kind of interior you want for the barn, like stalls for livestock or tools for servicing implements.
Like many American barns there are two styles of doors. The main doors are tall and open outward, there is plenty of room to drive wagons through. On two of the remaining sides there is a split walk door with upper and lower halves that open independently. The doors are built in white to accent the red walls and the black roof, with a few touches of light grey for the foundation and the lintels.
