There are much easier ways to get decent game capture than this, but this video demonstrates how useful Audio Hijack can be to make a top quality 4K 60p game capture setup on a Mac.
I realise this is a bit of a random video but I've been using this setup a lot over the Christmas break playing Sniper Elite 5 and it has proven so solid and reliable.
NOTE: I am not a gamer and, although I know about recording video and audio, I don't know the best ways to record games. Maybe I made a crucial error here. It works for me!

Below is a bit about the stuff used in this video.
Audio Hijack - If you do anything relating to audio on macOS, this is a piece of software worth having. I cannot praise it enough. It's beautifully designed, extremely reliable, well supported, frequently updated and sensibly priced.
GeForce Now - If you are a semi-serious gamer or if, like us, you have kids who are getting into gaming and you don't want to invest in a decent gaming rig, this is a superb alternative. It's not perfect but, once up and running, the quality is absolutely stunning. You'll need a solid (preferable wired) internet connection for this. It will soon fall apart if you don't.
Atomos Shogun Inferno - This is a professional 4K 60p recorder from 2016. It's old now and long discontinued. There are much more advanced models available today with 8K support, better brightness etc but this is superb for recording gaming. Unlike offerings from Elgato or similar, this records to ProRes which makes editing a dream. It's also a professional tool so it's reliable and never skips a beat.
