Record Breaking Extremes from Our Warming Climate
I chat about how heat records have changed in recent decades: rdcu.be/fskRF
Unless you live under a rock, people are well aware of record setting heat waves in Europe and now in North America, and in many other parts of the world.
Although focused on heat domes at the moment, climate warming acceleration is also causing many other extremes, like torrential rains leading to flooding.
In this video, I chat about a fairly recent statistical paper showing that heat waves in our warming world are 4 times more likely than they would be in a stationary, non climate change warming world.
As we continue to warm, cold spells will eventually become non-existent, and that factor of 4x will likely approach a factor of 20x or so.
