I realised after uploading this video that Alice Walker has been heavily criticised for anti-Semitic views. I wouldn’t have recommended The Color Purple so strongly if I’d been aware of this beforehand as whilst that novel was a beautiful read to me I don’t want to support authors who are harming Jewish communities in this way.
