On December 1, Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., president of the University of Notre Dame, presided and preached at a Mass for immigrants and immigration reform in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

The celebration followed a Nov. 12 message from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, which voiced strong concern about “the indiscriminate mass deportation of people” from the U.S. and responded to recent comments by Pope Leo XIV.

This Mass brought our community together in prayer for the dignity, protection, and fair treatment of all immigrants.
