The Indiana Fever’s four-game win streak came to an end Thursday night in a high-scoring loss to the Atlanta Dream. Indiana has now allowed 100-plus points in four of its six losses this season.
Caitlin Clark, who debuted her Caitlin 1 signature shoe, led the Fever with 26 points, but foul trouble limited her late. She did not score in the fourth quarter and attempted just one shot, which came early in the period. Kelsey Mitchell scored 13 of her 26 points in the fourth, and Aliyah Boston added 23 as the Fever’s Big 3 combined for 75 points.
Atlanta dominated inside, scoring a season-high 60 points in the paint while Indiana battled foul trouble throughout the second half. The Fever made a fourth-quarter push, including a 13-3 run with Clark on the bench, and tied the game at 93 before the Dream closed it out late. Angel Reese led Atlanta with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and all five Dream starters scored at least 16 points.
Makayla Timpson played as many minutes as Monique Billings and Myisha Hines-Allen combined, giving the Fever needed activity off the bench. Defense, turnovers and missed free throws were the biggest issues for Indiana.
