apalrds adventures | Rebuilding my older ZFS server for TrueNAS SCALE @apalrdsadventures | Uploaded March 2022 | Updated October 2024, 5 hours ago.
In this video, I casually explain the setup I'm working on to run TrueNAS SCALE, now that I'm almost completely migrated from bare Ubuntu Server + LXC to Proxmox VE and TrueNAS SCALE. My old setup has been running fine for a few years and a few hardware upgrades now, but since I'm splitting out compute resources to Proxmox and storage to TrueNAS, I don't need so much CPU power in the TrueNAS node any more. As a result, I'm downgrading it to an older AMD A10 ITX motherboard I had lying around, so my nicer Ryzen 3400G can be more useful and make more content for you all to watch.

I'd like to apologize for the quality of this video, I recorded it fairly early in my YouTube journey, but I don't want to take the server apart again and I thought you might like to join on my hardware journey.
