The course starts with an introduction to REAPER and its key features. You learn about tracks, audio, MIDI, and the fundamentals of mixing and writing music within REAPER. You dive into the Actions window and discover how to utilize the vast array of available actions, commands, and shortcuts to enhance your workflow and unlock the full potential of REAPER.
While REAPER offers a limited number of built-in virtual instruments, fear not! Alex shares his favorite selection of incredible free instruments that you can download and use to expand your sonic palette. REAPER's built-in sequencer, Megababy, is next. You explore both basic and advanced features of Megababy, including different ways to bounce your MIDI data to audio for further production.
REAPER offers lots of ways to input, edit, and manipulate MIDI notes and passages in the MIDI editor, and Alex shares custom shortcuts to speed up your editing process. You discover different ways to customize your workflow with all sorts of FX shortcuts and create custom actions to streamline the loading of effects and FX chains. You also learn to greatly enhance your electronic music production experience by using Alex's favorite user-based third-party scripts.
