I used to play Myst all the time when I was a kid. I saw this come out on steam and I was so stoked.
About 2 years ago I wanted to do a single-segment run of Myst Masterpiece Edition, but I could not get fraps to record the game for the life of me. Plus it kept crashing so I had to save every 10 mins just in case.
Now that this game came out I am really really happy cause, as you will see as you watch, they did a really good job making the game fully 3d and explorable. I found a few "easter eggs" as well. All in all I have to say this was a REALLY REALLY well done remake of Myst. The sounds, the feel of the game, the weather and day/night cycles. All GFG. I give this game a 88 or a 90 out of 100 for sure. I'll have to check on the replay value but I'm sure it will always be fun like the original myst. ;)
I did a "Journal" for this run, as you see I pause when there is a clue you need to write down etc. I'll scan it soon an upload it as a video so you can see how I progressed through the game. From playing the game a few years ago prepping for a speed-run, I got re-famaliarized with all the clue finding etc, so I basically just went from there and tried to take in all the great graphic work they put into this game as well.
This is not a speed run, it's meant to be watched like a movie or skimmed through for clues if you like to watch rather than read a walkthrough. This contains everything in the game I think, but if I missed something, let me know with comments k?
This also contains the 3 "failure" endings and I wanted to show the butterflies extra at the end cause I saw them briefly when playing but then they weren;t there when I wanted to get a good video shot of them flying around. The butterflies were one of the only "in the world" so to speak... animations.. I dunno how to explain it but I dont think there were many other shots like when the butterflies fly by in the original game. I remember when I saw that as a kid in the original game it was the best graphics out at the time for sure.
