You often hear people talk about the "5 senses". I recall even hearing about it in my english classes. Goes to show that there are some "facts" that can get passed down as truth without any real grounding.

If VR is going to reach it's peak, those of us pursuing it ought to be aware of exactly the challenge we're being faced with. Our senses make up almost the entirety of the technical challenge for VR, so knowing a bit about the nature of said senses is a good place to start for many of us going in.
