This is REAL, UNHINGED CALAMITY, a wild medley of Terraria Calamity Mod mashups. I picked songs from every section of the game, fused them with some non-VGM to make something in between a remix and a mashup, threw in a bunch more random stuff, and transitioned them all into this behemoth of a medley. Hope you enjoy!
My first idea for this was combining 365 by Charli xcx and Infestation, the theme of Crabulon, since it has that rave feel. I don't really know where the DK rap came from, but obviously I had to add Crab Rave and I only put NO FRONT by Comethazine in because he said "Filet mignon, crab well done".
I love Blood Coagulant, the theme of the Perforators, and originally I was gonna do a JPEGMAFIA song but I settled for Joey Valence and Brae X Peggy with WASSUP. I had to do some ridiculous chopping to get it to fit the 6:5 polymeter of the song, and decided to just to it in the intro, then do some more ridiculous chopping to fit Blood Coagulant into 4/4. Then I threw Swamp Bitches in just to keep it interesting.
Return To Slime, the theme of the Slime God, with RICKY by Denzel Curry was also an early on idea, and this ended up working even better than I imagined. Even when it was just the two songs on top of each other, it sounded pretty good, but I still decided to strip the instrumental and remake it to fit better.
Raw, Unfiltered Calamity, theme of the Calamitas Clone, with Get Low by Lil Jon might be the dumbest idea I had, and for some reason I completely forgot about the A section of the song when I was imagining it in my head, so it just immediately went to the Antarctic Reinforcement part after the intro, but I had to keep that to make the mashup work. Then like earlier, I just threw in hey now by Kendrick Lamar at the end to keep it interesting.
I was hesitant about this one at first because it's not TECHNICALLY a boss theme, but I chose Siren's Call because I didn't want to figure out contorting another song into an odd meter. Hardheaded by Samara Cyn was the first song I thought of and I almost felt bad putting it in since it's a pretty personal song, but after changing the key to D minor, the mashup worked WAY too well to leave it out.
The Unholy Ambush part might be my favorite part of the song. I was originally just going to do Praise The Lord by A$AP Rocky and Skepta but after putting it in I realized U WONT by INJI would be a better fit. I ended up keeping both and even extended the flute from Praise The Lord into the U WONT section. I realized that the reason U WONT worked so well was because every syllable is the same length and equally emphasized, which worked well with the straight drum n bass groove of the song. Trying to keep this theme, I added NONSENSE by Comethazine as another song with that kind of delivery.
If the Get Low one wasn't the dumbest mashup in this, the west coast Devourer Of Gods, hyphy Scourge Of The Universe definitely is. I started with Drop It Like It's Hot and then added GRGP by Larry June later and put the Drop It Like It's Hot drums over it. It was only from reading the comments that I realized Pharrell's verse in Drop It Like It's Hot was what the guy was rapping in the Door Stuck video, so I had to have him come in too. As the cherry on top, I added E-40s "Nope" and "Yup" in the background too.
This last section with Supreme Calamitas's theme, Stained, Brutal Calamity, was tough to figure out, until I remembered making the connection a while ago that Crucified by Army Of Lovers has basically the same chord progression as Stained, Brutal Calamity, so I realized I had to flip it into a 90s house track. Then of course, I had to add the Pucci edit since that's how most people know about that song. Since I was in the house realm now, I got the idea to finish it off with 1-800 by bbn0$ and Ironmouse.
