I had a quick spontaneous chat with Rurikhan on his stream so we could trade thoughts on what went down at Blizzcon with Diablo Immortal, reminisce about the good old days, and even consider the dangers of the potential monetization they may implement with their new mobile plans.
Diablo Immortal and the reactions to it isn't just about elitist PC and console gamers jumping on the little guy, it's the boiling point of a community that has been drained the last of it's patience and felt an almost literal slap in the face. Hopes ran high again this year after community managers and various hype was stirred up for Diablo just prior to virtual ticket sales for Blizzcon.
And what was the big announcement this year? A mobile game that Blizzard isn't even responsible for making, leaving fans with anger and confusion of just wtf is Blizzard doing with the franchise??
