The tiny village of Aillac is an old port. It's a quiet backwater off the main Dordogne river where boats carrying good from Bordeaux on the west coast would stop off to unload and buy and sell more goods to carry further inland. Now it's a sleepy little place where very old boats and can find a peaceful final rest.
