The Massif Central of France is mountainous and stunning. It truly is massive, covering around 15% of France and dominating the region of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alps. The dramatic scenery includes 450 extinct volcanoes, high, wind swept plateaus and steep forested gorges. It's a wild, area where kites and buzzards wheel high on the air currents.
