Welcome to the OASIS! We loved Ernest Cline's Ready Player One as a book, and we thought the idea of shoving all those cultural references into a movie was nuts. Watching Wade Watts as Parzival attempting to find the Easter egg in this dystopia? Yes, please. We were Atari kids of the 80s, so all the references to Joust, Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Tempest, and Zork were right up our alley. Combine that with Dungeons & Dragons, Star Wars, Star Trek, WarGames, Blade Runner, Iron Giant, Akira, Tomb Raider, Back to the Future... we could go on. Suffice to say - minds blown.
