In this video, I will share with you the books selected for the 2024 Repbulic of Consciousness Shortlist for UK and Ireland. The Republic of Consciousness supports, promotes and celebrates independent and small presses in the UK and Ireland. Over seven years, the prize has awarded over £100,000 to publishers and authors. I also joined the Book of the Month Club run by the Republic of Consciousness committee (see more details and a link below). I will share those unboxings each month!

Avenues by Train by Farai Mudzingwa, Cassava Republic
Of Cattle and Men by Ana Paula Maia, Charco Press
Out of Earth by Sheyla Smanioto, Boiler House Press
The End of August by Yu Miri, Tilted Axis Press
The Zekameron by Maxim Znak, Scotland Street Press
The Republic of Consciousness comittee runs a monthly Book of the Month subscription to raise funds for the prize, with books generously donated by a different small press every month.
