The Integral Stage | Reading the Kosmos Trilogy Excerpts (G: Towards a Comprehensive Theory of Subtle Energies) @theintegralstage8140 | Uploaded June 2022 | Updated October 2024, 23 hours ago.
In the early 2000s, Ken Wilber began to publish excerpts from his long-awaited follow-up to Sex, Ecology, Spirituality, tentatively titled "Kosmic Karma and Creativity" or "Sex, Karma, Creativity." In it, he was no longer writing, as he said, for the general public; he was writing for serious students of his vision. The promised second volume of the Kosmos Trilogy never appeared, however, and the excerpts (A, B, C, D, and G) have remained our only tantalizing glimpse of what promised to be a postmetaphysical tour de force.
In their new Integral Stage series, Reading the Kosmos Trilogy Excerpts, Bruce and Layman will take a deep dive into these five thought-provoking and in many ways revolutionary documents, not only to give them some overdue attention and engagement, but to highlight them also for their prescience and relevance to many of the issues and challenges we confront in the third decade of the 21st Century. For Excerpt G: Towards a Comprehensive Theory of Subtle Energies, Bruce and Layman are joined by Michael Garfield and Matt Kreinheder to discuss their interest and relationship to this particular excerpt, and to explore a number of related key insights and concepts:
* Wilber's proposed postmetaphysical resituation of subtle energies, as correlated with increasing complexifications of material forms;
* Subtle energies in light of the postmodern critique of postmetaphysics;
* The relevance of a subtle energy taxonomy for contemporary healing practices;
* Wilber's handling of topics such as reincarnation, subtle entities and realms, etc;
* Precognition and other psychic capacities in light of new conceptions of time, such as Eric Wargo's model of time loops;
* Shortcomings in some of Wilber's presentations of contemporary science
* Personal experiences with subtle energies and psychic phenomena;
* And much more.
