The second video in my Reading Retelling Series is here! I filmed this in May & decided to do Mulan retellings since I did take part in the Asian Readathon. Originally I planned to have this uploaded the last weekend in May but I decided to postpone it to the 15th of June (aka my birthday!)

I couldn’t link the own voices reviews I found on Goodreads about the representation of Chinese culture in this novel. If you are interested in the reviews search the title of the book then go down to the review section. There is a search bar there & if you type ‘own voices’ they will appear.
I couldn’t find any own voices reviews on the non-binary representation. If you find one I would greatly appreciate it if you could direct me to it. I have seen some reviews state that this book contains trans representation (these reviews weren't own voices tho). It is never clearly said in the book how this character identifies & I know that although the author is queer she does not identify as non-binary or trans or gender fluid.
