"Once upon a time, there was a small kitten named Cymbeline. She was born in the wild - that is to say, in an old, abandoned barn - and she spent the first month of her life growing with her fellow littermates under the natural care of their feral mother cat. When a late summer storm - and Cymbeline’s own sense of adventure - led her to strike out on her own, the tiny kitten sought shelter in an obliging tree hollow outside a little grey farmhouse.
