You know when you're talking to someone at a bar or party and have no idea if they mean what they're saying or if they're saying something else completely different 'cause you're bad at social interactions so you write a song about it? yeah
WE'RE IN THE DOUBLE DIGITS NOW
THE PLAN:
This is part of a project I'm doing called "7-Day Songs"! I'm challenging myself to write, record, and edit a new original song/video each week, every Tuesday. Planning to do this until the shelter-in-place/lockdown ends, might extend this past that!
I'm mainly a piano player & songwriter, not so much a recorder/mixer at all, so please bear with me as I try to improve these upcoming weeks!

LYRICS:
Verse 1:
Woke up in the morning, what a shame I'm still the same person, I'll try again tomorrow
To become a man whose sense of social cues is built in, not something that's borrowed
Spend my whole night guessin'
Your facial expression
Says a thousand words but I don't know a single one
Chorus 1:
No I'm not the best at knowing
What exactly people mean
When their words and their faces
Are in two different places
So come on, what's the deal?
How do you feel?
What's my appeal?
I'll break the seal stopping my brain
From reading what you're really saying
Verse 2:
Everything's the same, not a thing has changed, means nothing and everything together
All the pages in a foreign language, anguish, say it again, I'm not too clever
Then you give a smile, and I smile back, but in my head it's always been
That a smile going towards me's either not for me, or it's not genuine
Quickly turn neurotic
I become robotic
Racing through, crash in your captcha
Chorus 2:
No I'm not the best at knowing
What exactly people mean
When their words and their faces
Are in two different places
So come on, what's the deal?
How do you feel?
What's my appeal?
Is this real
Verse 3:
Can you say that one more time, I didn't get it
No I heard you, I just don't believe you said it
Different book, different page, they don't even look the same
They're just next to each other
I could use improvement
Seeing every movement
Got a long long way to go
Chorus 3:
No I'm not the best at knowing
What exactly people mean
When their words and their faces
Are in two different places
So come on, what's the deal?
How do you feel?
What's my appeal?
Is this real, so come on, what's the deal?
How do you feel?
What's my appeal?
Is this real, so come on, what's the deal?
How do you feel?
What's my appeal?
I'll break the seal stopping my brain
