Akhil Sharma is the author of the novels Family Life (Winner of the Folio Prize and the International Dublin Literary award) and An Obedient Father (Winner of the PEN Hemingway Award). His short stories have appeared in The New Yorker and have been anthologized in Best American Short Stories. He teaches in the creative writing program at Rutgers-Newark.
