This solution by Bas looks like it works, and i used it successfully fora while but it’s very hot and miss and not supported by Microsoft so could ( and does ) fail often

Essentially go to SharePoint and share the image (choose the option that anyone can view) then use that URL BUT.. take off everything after the ? and add download =1
e.g.
https//you.sharepoint.com/:i:/s/YourSharePointSite/EW3zwMDDGBSdyzRQMEbRg?e=uxOx0A
becomes
https//you.sharepoint.com/:i:/s/YourSharePointSite/EW3zwMDDGBSdyzRQMEbRg?download=1
