What were you doing on June 30, 2020? As for me, I was driving my 2006 Toyota Corolla home from an abandoned mine that day and watched my odometer turn over 400,000 miles!

I bought my Corolla brand-new in October of 2005. It has served me well these last sixteen years considering all the off-roading I put it through to reach abandoned mines and unusual places. This particular video was filmed last summer in 2020 but because of the pandemic and other issues, I never got around to uploading it to my channel. Since then, I've put even more miles on the odometer and, if my calculations are correct, I'm about to turn over 420,000 miles which I'll document in an upcoming video. My goal for that next video is to also get the car completely detailed and cleaned so I can film its exterior and interior for the 420,000 mile video. For a sixteen year old car that’s sporting over 400,000 miles on its odometer, there's no doubt that my Corolla is in really good shape and looks great! Best cars ever!

$Searching for Connections in the Abandoned Snakebite Mine Does the abandoned Snakebite Mine connect to another nearby mine that Paul and I attempted to excavate last year? I went seeking an answer to that question not too long ago. The Snakebite Mine and the unnamed mine that we attempted to excavate last year do face each other on opposite sides of a small hill, are only about 1000 feet apart (304 m), and only differ in elevation by 70 feet (21 m). While inside the Snakebite Mine, I discovered several inclined passageways going down and up from the main haulage tunnel into stopes. Could one of those downward tunnels actually connect to the other mine? Then, without warning, I arrived at a junction and suddenly found myself at the bottom of a main inclined shaft that went upward and broke through to the surface. It was quite an exploration!
