Where to begin with this one? Ever since the very early days of Youtube, there were 2 mercenaries runs I would always watch the high scores of and try to replicate: Wesker on Castle and HUNK on Village.
HUNK is my favourite of the RE4 Mercenaries characters due to his simplicity and effectiveness. One of my most viral videos was of the Neckbreaker Ballet challenge.
A while ago, I decided to achieve the NTSC Gamecube WR for HUNK on Village with a score of 207,100, blowing the original WR of 201,100 completely out of the water. However, the more commonly played version, which includes most 30fps and 60fps ports, was one where I had yet to hit such a score, with my previous maximum being 205,300.
Two friends of mine; luis_sera speedrun & GustavoXzE had both achieved the World Record of 207,700, which matches my own personal highest score achieved with Wesker. I decided it was about time I became the 3rd person to achieve 207,700 and started practicing.
Due to the spawn glitch on the 60fps port, along with some other minor issues, I quickly got frustrated with the PC 60fps port and decided to go back to the next best port: Nintendo Wii. No weird glitches and a far more advantageous aiming system gave me a better chance of getting a high score.
So, I started grinding away constantly, to the point my hand started cramping up from holding the Wiimote for so many hours at a time.
Village is a complex map, especially for the first chest due to the very specific spawns and ganado behaviours you need for an optimal chest, meaning that over 95% of my runs died on this first chest. I'm pretty sure I've mentally aged by about a decade because of this.

As for the run itself: This is by far my LUCKIEST run in RE4 Mercenaries.
The 37 first chest, the luck required for everything to go right during its setup....
Managing to deal with the two awkward plagas during the first combo.
The dynamite Ganado falling behind the fountain so he didn't kill all the other ganados.
The necessary grenade drops for the 2nd chest.
That final critical headshot on kill 40 of the 2nd chest.
Managing to then get 6 grenade drops before the 3rd chest and then the final grenade during it.

I had to pause a few times to take a breath, especially right before the 3rd chest which I've edited out, but I was sitting in the inventory for about 3-4 solid minutes, as after 2 perfect chests, I was terrified I'd screw up the final chest and lose out on this extremely rare opportunity.
If you pay attention to the Wiimote aiming reticle, you can see just how nervous I was by how much my aim is shaking all over the place!

So, how impressive is this score for those of you who don't have an intimate knowledge of mercenaries?
Well, for reference; the mathematical maximum for this stage is 210,400 (118 bonus kills).
The Wesker WR is 208,900 with 113 bonus kills.
And this run is with 111 bonus kills, and is potentially the maximum possible with HUNK unless the first combo and 2nd chest get a major strategic overhaul, which I personally see as unlikely.
