Since Mike name-dropped my namesake, I thought I owed him a detailed explanation of the many mistakes he made in his video.
Bottom line: if my life by itself has no meaning independent of an afterlife, how can stretching my existence out to infinity in the afterlife give it meaning? If mattering now is not enough to give my life meaning, how would it help if it mattered then?
(And for the record, I am not a utilitarian, I just thought Mike straw-maned them.)
