The Game Awards 2023, or as I call it now: The Geoff Keighley Power Hour. Trust me, not even Gonzo from The Muppets could save a really awful show.
Context for those who aren't in the know: The Game Awards 2023 had a category for Best Indie Debut with Pizza Tower among the nominations. Now, you would think given the greatness the game is, being in development for five years and being Tour de Pizza's first game with a well earned critical reception and popularity, it'd be an easy W. You would THINK. Instead the award was given to some game nobody's heard of or even cares about that much, CoCoon. On top of that, turns out the developer of CoCoon, Geometric Interactive, started up a new company and actually had some other games made beforehand. So not only is it NOT their first game, but they kinda cheated their way to that award. Let that sink in for a moment.
We good? Alright, now you can let the sink back outside. Hope you washed your hands while it was inside. Hope my little rant didn't scare you off. Anyway, I'm working on some other projects right now. Look forward to those or something.
