It’s been really challenging, fun, inspiring, and soothing to work through this record this week. I’m in a groove now with working from home and going for walks and getting groceries delivered… it’s all starting to feel normal. I hope things return to actual normal soon though, and I can be with my friends and family and students and audiences in person again. In the mean time I’ll be looking forward to carrying on with all that virtually.
Apparently Justin had a gambling issue that inspired this one. So he’s going through a breakup, a band breakup, mono, some complication of that which fucked his liver, oh… and ALSO gambling. I mean, what the fuck. Not a fun time. Glad had he came out the other end of all that OK.
So yeah, that’s been putting all this in perspective for me. I’ve always found that writing and playing material that explores HOW terrifying things can get kind let’s me come back to reality with more gratitude and acceptance.
Hope you have a good rest of your quarantine and continue to find ways to stay active and creative and engaged, and safe!
