I don't discount the possibility of a "mysterious something-or-other" - but I have yet to be convinced that any human being has the first clue about what that "something" is.
Couldn't it just as easily be be the Flying Spaghetti Monster or The Matrix, as opposed to Jesus or Allah?
YOU are the one making the assertion that "X exists and has properties Y and Z".
An 'atheist' is someone who has entertained your claim, investigated it, and found it to be ridiculous.
