This session is a mix of more theory to decide on the best starting configuration for the compound lens and some initial trials to verify that the ideas are headed in the right direction. In this session you will see evidence of 60 to 100% cutting enhancement over my previous single lens results for various materials. However, we must remain objective because this is only the first of MANY configurations that will have to be tested and verified. There are lots of parameters to be tested such lens material, lens shape, lens focal length, lens separation, and lens order. Also bear in mind that I am using 10 mm material as my comparitor because depth of cut requires more power. If I can get higher cutting speeds at that depth then I suspect the % gain may be higher on thinner materials. But hey, that may be the grand finale.
