*UPDATE:* There is now a foolproof method to getting Pearson's Scout Jacket, thanks to *Rockworth* (link below). Here is what @Rockworth has found out in a nutshell:
1. Pearson's Scout Jacket is only available in *Chapter 2*
2. This request is only available *between 10 am and 12 pm*
3. Core and camp supplies DO NOT MATTER and have no incidence on whether you can get this request
4. MOST IMPORTANTLY, this request is available at any point during Chapter 2, *except when Kieran's mission marker is active*
With this information in mind, here's Rockworth's step-by-step method:
1. Save your game just before 10 am, then head into camp if you're not already there
2. Wait for Pearson to park his butt behind the small table and go to him
3. If the "Greet" option is available and the "Antagonize" option is grayed out, you can talk to him; if not, reload your game and try again.
4. After Pearson tells you about his special rabbit soup, go hunt a rabbit.
5. Give Pearson the rabbit (it doesn't have to be a perfct carcass btw), then head to your trunk and claim your jacket.
