The ECS Pacific Northwest Section proudly presents Dr. David Reed, Chief Material Scientist/Program Manager of the Battery Materials and Systems Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Dr. Wei Wang,
Director of the Energy Storage Materials Initiative at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, in a free webinar where the two discuss, "R&D Efforts in Energy Storage Technologies for the Grid at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL)."

The webinar specifically highlights efforts at PNNL to accelerate the acceptance of energy storage technologies for grid-scale applications. The investigation of new and existing technologies to improve materials and systems that directly impact performance is covered. The two also describe new research with the goal to create a digital twin battery to accelerate energy storage discovery and development. In addition, they review safety and reliability testing efforts employed to develop protocols, materials, and systems to ensure the safe and reliable deployment of energy storage systems.
