Display: 640x480 using Elgato Video Capture (S-Video cable)
Audio: Stereo
You can play Rayman 2: The Great Escape on the N64 with the best possible display setting and audio setting. Here's what you need:
For Highest Possible Display Setting
A standard or CRT TV that accepts S-Video with the expansion pak inserted into the N64. Make sure the screen is displayed on 4:3. You will play at a much higher resolution with an S-Video cable compared with regular composite cable.
For the Best Audio Experience
Make sure you own a home theater system (5.1 surround sound) or a regular stereo system (2.1). First, set up your receiver as stereo. Next, go to the options menu and make sure the audio is set as stereo as well. The left and right speakers should work with the subwoofer adjusted to feel like you're in the game.
