It’s always good to see appreciation for very old couples, isn’it? Yes, I think it is.
This show ended in 2009. I was just a kid and I still remember the last scene and the moment I watched it with my parents.
I’ve always had at the back of my mind the idea of vidding them, mostly because there aren’t videos about them and I wanted something to watch in order to remember their journey. I totally didn’t think about uploading it on Youtube, since, well, this fandom is really small and unknown nowadays, but then I felt like I owed a lot to this show and to this couple. My first show. My first heartbreak over a thousands of fictional deaths.
They were the first couple I’ve ever vidded. You know MovieMaker and stuff? My first videos were HORRIBLE, a nightmare, I swear.
So you can imagine how excited I was when, out of the blue, while watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., this actress appeared playing a evil character. I WAS LIKE ‘HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO HATE YOU? I CAN’T. I LOVE YOU. YOU CAN’T BE EVIL. PRETTY PLEASE.’
So last month I thought about rewatching their seasons – the last five ones – because I was so sure that I wouldn’t ship them with the same fervor. Like, I was so sure that my current OTPs were so much better than them, that I was just a kid so of course I loved them, but MAN I WAS WRONG. They are amazing. They screwed up my childhood, but they are amazing. This rewatch was an amazing rollercoaster. I got to hear their real voices, since I watched it in italian – please be merciful, I was just eight… or nine years old, I don’t remember LOL. It was like re-descovering this couple from the start. She has an accent. A british accent. This probably explains why I immediately fall in love with british characters. And he is… I mean, he’s Shane West, you MUST have crush on him.
So yeah, I finished the video three days ago – after working on it for two weeks - and I’m still unsure about posting it here, making it public, because it’s not like the other videos. It’s like there’s a piece of me and of my childhood in here and this video just means so much to me, maybe too much. That’s why I’m proud of it. Apart from the artistic aspect, I really am proud of the outcome. I chose this song because I think it’s pretty suitable to them and easy to vid. The lyrics helped me to sum up their story - a never-a-joy story, OF FUCKING COURSE, becuase I’m me and I always choose the most ANGST OTPs - and I hope these two minutes catch your attention even though most of you have no idea about who they are.
That’s probably the longest DB I’ve ever written and really is someone actually reading this?
Anyhow, I think my next video will be a huge multifandom one and it will take a while but I’ve got a good idea – I think. So after my last exam, I will go down with a multifandom.
