Fresh off the prison truck and not even settled in yet, Ray Gibson (Eddie Murphy) and Claude Banks (Martin Lawrence) sit down for their first meal at Camp 8 when Goldmouth (Michael Taliferro), the biggest and most dangerous man in the mess hall, eyes Claude's untouched cornbread and makes his move, setting off a back and forth between Ray and Claude that is somehow funnier than the actual confrontation with Goldmouth, Claude insisting he is a grown man who can give up his own cornbread if he wants to, and Ray insisting that if Claude hands it over he will spend the rest of his life ironing this man's drawers.

In 1932, New York hustler Ray Gibson and straight-laced bank teller Claude Banks are forced to partner up on a bootlegging run through the Deep South for a Harlem crime boss.
