Several Indianapolis Fire Department crews responded to multiple reports of fires at three houses in the 400 block of Hamilton Avenue, near Southeastern and South State avenues on the near east side of Indianapolis.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they saw heavy fire coming from the homes that they believe were vacant.
It took crews about two hours to get the fire under control, leaving one firefighter slightly injured.
IFD said there were no working smoke alarms in the houses, and all three of them were a total loss.
